Belina’s advisers and trainers are practical and motivational people, with significant experience in helping parents get back to work.
Liz Sewell, Director
Liz has worked for over 20 years developing practical strategies to help parents get back to work. She advised the Cabinet Office and the NHS on the development of childcare programmesand went on to co-develop the Marks and Start ‘Parents Programme’, The DWP’s ‘Discovery Weeks’, and the JCP adviser training programme ‘Lone parents – a positive approach’. Through her company Belina Consulting she has created the successful programmes Take Three Days, Get Confident to Work and Parents’ Job Club. She was Vice President of the National Union of Students and is a former Chief Executive of the lone parent organisation Gingerbread. She now chairs the Trustee Board of the award-winning charity LASA. Belina Consulting is named after her daughters, Isabel and Nina.
Ruth Bryan, Trainer
Ruth has 20 years’ experience in advice and training. She was a Senior Adviser on the Childcare Affordability Programme, which was successful in getting parents into employment, before she piloted the Parents’ Job Club with Belina.
Ann Munday, Trainer
Ann is a former Chair of the National Association of Family Information Services and a former strategic lead for childcare in the London NHS. Her experience includes developing Family Information Services and Children’s Centres, and working with local authorities and the private sector on advising parents and childcare providers.
Violet Brannan, Trainer (Midlands)
Violet is a specialist in motivational training, including the GOALS Programme, with experience herself as a working lone parent. Her experience includes training at Spicers Wholesale, as a commercial manager, and most recently at Future Skills Dudley.
