Support for Advisers
We support professional advisers in a wide range of roles working with lone parents.
Our training and support includes:
How to support parents into work
An intensive ‘essentials’ day, for participants to develop their awareness of lone parents’ needs and how to meet them. We consider the barriers to employment for lone parents and the particular challenges of supporting them into work. We cover the benefits of group work for lone parents and the ingredients of an effective group programme.
Running parents’ groups
We train participants to deliver effective groups for lone parents, develop their skills and support them in practice. We usually offer a one-day training programme, followed by co-training and personal feedback for staff as they run their first group, and/or further mentoring.
